Chin Augmentation

Chin augmentation (mentoplasty) uses implants to correct a receding chin or to strengthen a jawline.

In general, when looking at your profile, the chin should approximate an imaginary line dropped from the edge of the lower lip. Sometimes it is necessary to augment the chin (build it up and bring it forward) in order to balance the profile. This procedure is often performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) to obtain the best possible profile. Results of these procedures are a more balanced appearance to the face.
