The most commonly treated areas are the face and neck. Other areas such as the chest and hands can also be treated.

The Alma Pixel CO2 uses the power of carbon dioxide, CO2, laser to treat skin imperfections. Unlike traditional ablative laser resurfacing which removed the entire top layer of the skin, Pixel CO2 uses a fractional delivery method which creates pixel-sized perforations in the skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. The preservation of undamaged skin allows for faster healing while the wound healing process promotes generation of new collagen, tissue regeneration, and contracture of existing fibers.

Fractional treatment significantly reduces the risk of adverse side effects such as hypopigmentation, scarring, hyperpigmentation, infection, and persistent redness. Patients also benefit from shorter downtime and increased comfort compared to traditional resurfacing.

Healing takes between 5-10 days depending on the patient and the depth of treatment.

You should see results as soon as a few weeks after your skin heals and continued improvement over 3-6 months.

Immediately following the treatment, you may experience redness and a sensation resembling sunburn. Swelling may also occur in the treated areas. Your provider will advise you on specific after-treatment care recommendations, which may include analgesics and application of an ointment to keep the skin moist.

You may be given recommendations for skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use some level of sun protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.
